LONERGAN - PJ (PETER) - First Anniversary and Acknowledgement, February 15, 2024. As we mark the first anniversary of our beloved father's passing, we reflect on his incredible life with immense love, pride and gratitude. He was such a kind, compassionate and intelligent man, who touched the lives of everyone he knew and met. We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to Fr. Joseph (Dad's grand-nephew) for his beautiful celebration of Dad's funeral Mass, and to his cherished sister, Breda Bailham, his wonderful brothers Michael, Tony and Noel, and all our extended family, for their unwavering love, support and comfort during Dad's short illness and this past year. Each of you made managing Dad's illness surmountable and the last year survivable. We would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to all those who took the time to call us, send cards, letters or other messages since Dad's passing. From Dad's former Enterprise Ireland (IIRS) and NSAI colleagues, his Irish Air Corps classmates, his fellow Beaverstown Golf Club and EI Golfing Society members, to his wonderful friends (especially the three amigos), his thoughtful neighbours and not least of all our own friends. Your kindness and friendship have meant the world to us. Finally we would like to pay a special thanks to the wonderful doctors and staff at Deerpark Medical Centre Ashbourne, the incredible Meath Palliative Care Team, the night angels at the Irish Cancer Society Night Nursing Service, Dad's home-carers, the dedicated doctors, nurses and carers at the Beacon Hospital Dublin and the infinitely patient pharmacists in Adrian Dunne Pharmacy Ashbourne. Their expertise, compassion and kindness to Dad (and us) made an immeasurable difference to us all. Dad has now joined our beloved Mum, Breda, in eternal rest and both will be forever loved and deeply missed. Rest in peace Dad, love Petrina, Killian and Nadine (and their spouses Lea and Stephen). Anniversary Mass will be offered on Saturday February 15, Corpus Christi Church, Griffith Avenue at 6pm.
