I have just learned of the death last year of my former teacher in Shannon school in the 1960s first in the flats and then in the new built school that was St Johns.on Drumgeely. Respected and loved by so many in Ireland and abroad I had the good fortune to correspond annually for many years. I was a handful then aged 6/7 but there were only about 30 of us across all primary age ranges including my elder Sister Jane sadly already taken. . You were a brilliant teacher and may you rest in peace.
