FITZMAURICE, Simon Joseph Damien, (Film Director), Greystones Co. Wicklow, October 26, 2017, (peacefully), in the presence of his loving family. Deeply regretted by his wife Ruth and children Jack, Raife, Arden, Sadie and Hunter, his sorrowing parents Florence and Damien, sisters Ruth and Kate and their husbands Chris and Pierre-Yves, uncle Bobby, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and a wide circle of friends. Funeral Mass today (Saturday) at 1pm in St. Killian's Church Blacklion, Greystones, followed by interment in Barniskey Cemetery, Avoca, Co. Wicklow. Family flowers only, donations if desired to I.M.N.D.A. donation box at Church.
FITZMAURICE Simon Joseph Damien Born September 24, 1974, died October 26, 2017. The family of Simon Fitzmaurice. His wife Ruth, children Jack, Raife, Arden, Sadie and Hunter, parents Florence and Damien, sisters Ruth and Kate, uncle Bobby and all the rest of Simon and Ruth's family. We would like to thank all Simon's great group of friends for all their love and support. To his full time nurses and carers, especially through his last year, we thank you sincerely. To all the wonderful people for their cards and letters of sympathy, which really helped through the hard days after Simon's death. To all the people who did not know Simon, but sent such really kind messages. To his wonderful family doctor, the nurses and medical staff at St. Vincent's Hospital. Thank you all. Simon has left a beautiful book and film, which he wrote and made while he had MND. These achievements will help us all through the years to come. We would also like to thank his producers, Assistant Director, all of the cast and crew, they gave Simon such great support. Simon, you will never be forgotten, you have implanted something special inside all of our hearts.
