de PAOR, Declan G. (Professor of Geophysics), (late of Galilea, Mallorca, formerly Blackrock, Dublin) May 30, 2018, passed away peacefully in Palma, surrounded by his devoted family. He will be missed so very much by the family he cherished, Carol (Simpson), Gavin, Tian, Laura (Macias), Liam and Alma, Mary (Lumsden) and Dympna (Walsh), brothers -in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place in Mallorca. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Cancer Society.Mairfidh sé in ár gcuimhne go deo.

John Ryder, only now learning of Declans passing. Studied and graduated with him at UCD fighting the University establishmen​t to allow us into Honours geology. Always ahead of his time. My condolences to you all.

I am only now -- July 14, 2018 -- learning of Declan's death. I worked with Declan at Old Dominion University for several years and am now heartbroken to learn of his passing. My condolences to the family. Rita Sutherland
