John (Jack), Emeritus Professor of Forestry at UCD, late of Blackrock, Co. Dublin and formerly of Poulacapple, Mullinahone, Co Tipperary passed away suddenly, at home on Monday 15th December, 2025.Predeceased by his beloved wife Brenda and Grandson Darragh, loving father of Martina, Ed, John, Bob and Cathy. Father-in-law to Kevin, Bern, Catriona, Roisin and John. Cherished Grandad of Cormac, Kate, Eoin, Thomas, Eliot, Hannah, Rian, Tadgh, Fionn and Sadhbh. Predeceased by his brother Michael, sisters Beatty, Kathleen and Nellie. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Jim and Eamonn, sisters Mary and Anne, extended Gardiner and OGorman families and his many great friends and neighbours. Jack will be reposing at his home tomorrow (Thursday) from 5.30pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday (19th) at 10am in St. Brigids Church, Cabinteely followed by burial in Deans Grange Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Heart foundation. Parking is very restricted in church car park.
