GILBERT, Boghall, Oughterard, Co Galway - November 29, 2014, Dr Richard (Dick), Professor Emeritus Chemical Engineering, University of Nebraska (Lincoln), after a long illness borne with dignity, in the gentle care of Galway Hospice. Greatly loved by his wife Dorothy (Doc), daughters Carol, Catherine and Ruth, sons Jon and the late David, sister Ruth and their families, brother Gene, step-children Robert, Eleanor and Michael Cunney and their families, grandchildren, great-grandson, relatives and wide circle of friends. Reposing at Walsh's Funeral Home, Oughterard from 5:30pm today, Monday. Removal to Church of the Immaculate Conception, Oughterard, at 6:45pm. Requiem Mass 12 noon tomorrow, Tuesday. Burial afterwards in Glann Cemetery, Oughterard. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Galway Hospice Foundation or Cancer Care West. "Just a closer walk with thee"
