O'KEANE Barbara (July 25, 2013). On this, the First Anniversary of the death of Barbara, dearly loved wife and mother, daughter and sister, sister-in-law, we, her husband Brian (Ó Catháin), her daughters, Aisling, Áine, Úna, Caitríona and Róisín, her mother, Ada, her sisters, Mia and Heidi, all wish to express our deep gratitude to those who supported us in so many ways both then and since: to Fr. Thomas O'Connor, Fr. P.J. Byrne and an tAthair Clement Mac Mánais for celebrating the very moving funeral Mass, to Eimear Crehan, Peadar Ó Mainnín and members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann for their touching music, to Séamus Ó Muirithe and the staff of Scoil Uí Riada, to Eimear White and other members of Cumann na dTuismitheoirí, to friends and neighbours for facilitating and organising a truly memorable post-funeral tribute to Barbara where she herself had laboured with love over many years; to family members, in Ireland, France and Germany for their unstinting care, love and support; to friends, neighbours, colleagues and students for their help and kindness; to all who wrote, sent cards and offered condolences which were all so greatly appreciated. In lieu of personal replies, please accept this notice as a small but truly sincere indication of our gratitude to all. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.Leaba i measc na naomh go raibh

Remembering Barbara

We have been deeply saddened by Barbara's passing; she was a person whose cheerful generosity of self and time extended to her family, the wider community (particularly through her work with the local school), and her students in NUI Maynooth. She will be greatly missed.
