GANNON, Michael (Goatstown, Dublin 14, formerly of Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny, late of Bank of Ireland and Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club) September 17, 2022. After a long illness bravely borne. Beloved and cherished husband of Fidelma and much loved father of Eimear, Ken and Ruth. Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, son-in-law Eamon, daughter-in-law Jean-Anne, Eimear’s partner Luca, his adored grandchildren Cian, Olivia, Ellie-Mae, Emilia and John, all his brothers and sisters, extended family, many friends and former colleagues. Rest in peace. Funeral Mass on Thursday (September 22) at 10.00am in the Church of St. Therese, Mount Merrion followed by cremation at Mt Jerome Crematorium. For those that cannot attend, the Mass can be viewed online using the following link: https://www.mountmerrionparish.ie/webcam/. (First Anniversary):
On this, the first anniversary of the death of our cherished and deeply loved Michael, his wife Fidelma, children Eimear, Ken and Ruth and all of the extended family wish to sincerely thank everyone who sympathised with them on the terribly sad loss of their beloved husband, dad, grandad and brother.
We would like to thank most sincerely all of those who attended his reposal at home, the funeral service and to all of the many letters, condolence cards, messages and to those who simply dropped in - we have been deeply comforted and humbled by the wonderful words, many memories shared and by the love shown to us all and particularly to Michael. He is missed more and more everyday.
Thank you to all of his many wonderful friends for your unwavering support, there are too many to mention but know that we are forever grateful. Please keep dropping in and sharing his stories.
To all in Fitzwilliam, De La Salle Palmerston Rugby Club and the Kilkenny Hurlers Supporters Club - thank you for your lovely tributes. They've brought us much pride and humour.
Our deepest gratitude to all in Carnegies Funeral Directors for your expert professionalism and the kindness shown to us. Graham, you were an incredible support in the few weeks after dads death and we will be forever grateful.
Michael will be remembered on Sunday 17th September at 11.30 Mass in the Church of St. Thérèse, Mount Merrion.
