To Don from Peter

Hi Don

I was very sorry to read about your Mother's passing in the paper this morning. I know from talking to you that your late mother has been quite ill for some time and there wasn't any prospect of a recovery. She lived a good and long life, but although her passing was expected it must still have been a shock to you and your family.

I regret that I will be unable to attend the funeral tomorrow, as I have to be in Belfast by lunchtime. Jack has an appointment that can't be changed at short notice and I have to take him.

Pleas accept the sympathies of both Ann and myself on this sad occasion to both you, Susie and the rest of your family.

Yours

Peter
