COSGROVE, Tom (Rathfarnham, Dublin and late of Ravensdale, Co. Louth) October 5, 2024, peacefully at Orwell Private. Beloved husband of Rosaleen, loving father of Marc, Peter, Ruth and Naomi, and grandfather of the late Cathy. Very deeply regretted by his daughters-in- law Bernie and Liz, son-in-law Knut, Ruth's partner Paul, his grandchildren Jennifer, Luke, Emma, David, Rachel, John, Lizzie, Michael, David, Naomi, Juan, Eileen and Tommy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace. Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Willbrook, Rathfarnham tomorrow (Tuesday) evening from 5.00 o’c until 7.00 o’c. Removal on Wednesday morning to the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.00 o’c. The Mass may be viewed on https://rathfarnhamparish.ie/webcam/ Committal thereafter at the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross may be viewed on https://www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/ No flowers please. Donations to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

On Toms first anniversary, October 5, Rosaleen, Marc, Peter, Ruth and Naomi wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to our wider family, friends, neighbours and colleagues who supported us on his passing. We also sincerely thank the staff and carers in Orwell Nursing Home, Rathgar, for the kindness towards, and care of, Tom in his final years.

Tom Cosgrove was a first cousin of my mother, Nancy Atkinson (née Sherry), daughter of Agatha Cosgrove. I’m so glad I got to meet Tom on a trip to Dublin and, more so, that Mother and Tom spoke by telephone a year before her death. My condolences to the extended family of this kind and engaging gentleman.
