GRIFFIN, Frank (Rathgar and formerly of Dartry), June 5 2016, retired Judge of the Supreme Court, in his 98th year, surrounded by his family and in the tender care of the nurses and staff of St. James's Hospital. Cherished husband of the late Helen, pre-deceased by his eldest son Michael and his grandchildren Thomas and Mary. Much loved and loving father of Gerard, Mary, Fiona, Fran and Peter. Dear brother of Nono and the late Paddy, John, Eileen and Maura. Will be sadly missed by his sons-in-law Jerry and Walti, daughters-in-law Catherine, Patricia and Juliet, his adoring 19 grandchildren, his 2 great-grandchildren, his devoted carers Delia and Bernie, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace. Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum, tomorrow (Wednesday) from 3 o'c prior to his removal to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Churchtown arriving at 5 o'clock Funeral mass Thursday at 10 o'c followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Br. Kevin, Capuchin Day Centre, Bowe St. Dublin 7.
GRIFFIN Frank (Rathgar, Dublin) June 5, 2016. In loving memory of Frank on this his First Anniversary, we his children Gerard, Mary Paula, Fiona, Fran and Peter, our families, together with his sister Nora McGuinness and his extended family, would like to thank all those who sympathised with and supported us at the time of his passing and in the past year. We thank his GP Dr. Cantwell and his Pharmacist Pat Sweeney who looked after him for many years. A special thanks to his carers Delia, Bernie and all at Orwell Home Care whose dedicated care enabled him to stay at home. Our heartfelt thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at St. James's Hospital who compassionately cared for him and supported us in his final days, Fr. Dermot Nestor who celebrated his Requiem Mass, Tony Pendergast and all the support team at the Church of Good Shepherd, Churchtown for calling to Frank at home in his later years. Our thanks to Fanagans Funeral Directors for their professional and sensitive assistance in making the arrangements. Our thanks to the Courts Service, Garda Tom Kennedy and An Garda Síochána and Milltown Golf Club for their kind help. We are grateful to Frank's and Helen's extended family, his friends, his colleagues and Members of the Judiciary, our relations, neighbours, colleagues and all who attended the removal and funeral or who made contact with us. Your support and kindness is greatly appreciated. We have fond memories of our Dad Frank as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose sense of humour endured to his final days. We also remember at this time our Mum, Frank's beloved wife Helen.
