McCARTHY (Mhic Cárthaigh) Maighread, Mount Merrion, died September 24, 2015 - On this, the First Anniversary of Maighread's death, her children, Ann, Brendan, Desmond and Niamh, her grandchildren, her brother and sisters, and her extended family would like to thank most sincerely all of those who supported us in this sad and difficult time. We wish to express our gratitude to all who called to her home, attended the Funeral Mass, and sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers and messages of condolence. We also wish to express a special word of thanks to Canon J. Anthony Gaughan, Fr. Tony Coote, and Fr. Liam McCarthy who concelebrated the Funeral Mass. Also, a special "thank you" to Professor Bernard Walsh and Dr. Pat Feeney, and the sisters and staff of Our Lady's Manor, Dalkey for their care and kindness to Maighread in the last months of her very long life. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.
McCARTHY (née O'Connell) Maighread, (late of Mount Merrion and formerly Moyvane, Co. Kerry) - September 24, 2015. In the wonderful care of the sisters and staff of Our Lady's Manor, Dalkey. Beloved wife of the late Paddy, predeceased by her daughter Mary, cherished mother to Ann (Reid), Brendan, Desmond and Niamh (Scollard), grandma to Grainne, Robert, Daire, Eoghan, Aoife, Cliodhna, Mareit, Ruth, Rebecca, Cormac, Conall and Saidhbhe, great-grandma to Maria, David, Dylan, Jorge, Maighread and Ilse. Sadly missed by her brother and sisters, relatives, friends and neighbours. Reposing this Friday evening at her home from 5pm to 8pm prior to her removal tomorrow (Saturday) morning to the Church of St. Therese, Mount Merrion arriving at 9.50am for 10 o'c Funeral Mass followed by burial in Deans Grange Cemetery.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.
