BARRETT, John (Dalkey, Co. Dublin) – December 31, 2019, peacefully, following a short illness, at Tara Care Centre, Bray. Beloved husband of Sheila, much loved and treasured father of Niamh, Bronwen, Denis, Tim, Michael and Grace, adored brother of Eve and Fr. Francis, and the late Fr. Cyril, Matt and Tim. Sadly missed by his son-in-law Vincent Treanor, grand-daughters Catherine, Gillian and Róisín, Róisín’s father Peter Ballagh and dear friends, relatives and former colleagues at the Department of English, University College Dublin. Cared for by the dedicated and loving staff of Tara Care Centre, Bray since 2017 and formerly by devoted staff at Dalkey Lodge. Reposing at Colliers Funeral Home, Bray, from 6.00pm to 7.00pm today (Monday). Funeral Mass at 10.00am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at the Church of the Assumption, Dalkey, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery, Shankill. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the RNLI or the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
