McSWEENEY - Christine (née Ffrench) (Brelade, Priests Road, Tramore, Co. Waterford, Formerly of Poulfaille, New Ross, Co. Wexford)

Died January 31, 2022. The McSweeney family wishes to thank all those who supported Chriss and ourselves, especially during her illness and at her death. Thank you to those who attended the funeral or watched the service online, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, texts, emails and messages of condolence on RIP. We offer our heartfelt gratitude to the sisters, nurses, carers and volunteers at St Joseph’s Home, Waterford for their loving kindness and compassion, and for providing our mother with the spiritual succour to feed her soul, especially in the final days of her life. We will always carry the memory of seeing them brave the cold and rain as they bade farewell to our mother’s remains as the hearse left St Joseph’s for the burial service in Tramore. Thank you to Father Nicholas O’Mahony for responding so graciously to our request to celebrate the funeral Mass at such short notice, and for the simple dignity of the service. We are also grateful to him for visiting our mother over the two and a half years/a long period/ prior to her death. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at University Hospital Waterford for the professional care and kindness they extended to our mother. We are also very grateful for the attentive and caring way Dr Stephen Shortall and his colleagues at the Family Practice Medical Centre in Tramore looked after our mother’s medical needs when she was still living in the family home. Thank you too to the Public Health and Palliative Care teams for their guidance and practical help during during mam’s illness. We thank our wonderful neighbours and friends who have always shown such generosity and kindness to our mother and the family. Finally, thank you to Robert Thompson Funerals Directors for the professional and considerate way they organised all aspects of this sensitive procedure for us.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. We feel truly blessed to have had such a loving and selfless mother and we will always miss her.

Gratias tibi ago,

Domine, propter

vitam amoris plenam.
