McGOVERN, Joseph A. (Joe) (Palmerstown, Dublin 20 and formerly of Belcoo, Co. Fermanagh) September 2, 2023. Former Chief Superintendent of An Garda Síochána. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the care of the staff at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. Beloved husband of the late Teresita (Terrie) and devoted father of Declan, Ronan, Maria, Bernadette, Gregory and Éoin. Cherished grandfather of Luke, David, Mark and Ella; Sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, daughter-in-law Fiona, Justin, brother Leo, sisters Sr. Sheila, Rita, Carmel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his dear friends. May he rest in peace. Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home Lucan on Thursday evening (September 7) between 4 pm and 7 pm. Removal to St Philomena’s Church, Palmerstown on Saturday morning (September 9) arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 am followed by burial in the Palmerstown Cemetery.
