EWING (Harry A.N.) (Rosses Point, Co. Sligo) August 19, 2006, Harry's wife Ruth and his children Fenton, Aisling and Daryl express their gratitude to all those who shared and supported them in their grief; relatives, friends, neighbours, colleagues. We are deeply grateful to all who attended this unique funeral, especially those who travelled long distances, sent floral tributes, Mass cards, letters, messages of sympathy and prayed. We thank Rev. Noel Regan for his loving care in the dark hours, Rev. Alan Mitchell, Archdeacon Andrew Forester and Father Tom McElhone, also Dr. Phil Murray for the continuous warmth of his sensitive care and concern, the wonderful oncology and renal teams in Sligo General Hospital, as well as Dr. Paul Donnellan, Galway. Thank you to Dr. Brendan Gill for his constant supportive friendship, also Dr. Patricia Fitzsimmons and Dr. Nessa O'Donnell. We appreciate, so much, the spontaneous flotilla which sailed home with Harry, David Taylor and the local bikers who accompanied Harry on his last journey. Thank you to the management and dedicated crew of R.N.L.I., Sligo, also the fishermen who came from around the coast to form a guard of honour with the R.N.L.I., the organisational skills of the local Garda Siochana. Thank you to Gerry for his delivery of an emotional and treasured eulogy, the sea shanty singers Willie and Paul, organist Charles O'Connor, Maurice for his help, compassion and solidarity, Hessions for their crafting of two beautiful salmon, the professionalism of Fehilly's Funeral Directors and all those who gave so generously to the R.N.L.I. We will always remember with pride and gratitude the special tribute paid to Harry by the R.N.L.I. The incoming ship's sounding of the mournful Mariner's farewell, the presence of the Coast Guard and Helicopter Service, the dipping of wings over the grave were all special. Thank you. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep appreciation.
