NEARY, J. Peter (Oxford and Dublin) MA (NUI) PhD (Oxon) D EconSc honoris causa (NUI) MRIA FBA MAE. Emeritus Professor of Economics and Fellow of Merton College, University of Oxford, and formerly Professor of Economics University College Dublin. On June 16, 2021 Peter died peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of his heartbroken wife, Mairéad Hanrahan, devoted father of Philip and David Neary and Róisín and Eoin Hanrahan, and delighted grandfather of Clara. He will be held in loving memory by his mother Anne Neary, his brothers John and Paul Neary and his sister Sheila Talini, the extended Neary and Hanrahan families, and his colleagues and friends in Ireland, the UK and throughout the world.
