BYRNE, Dr. Hugh (Ballinrobe, Co Mayo, formerly of Terenure, Co. Dublin, and a former TD) - April 22, 2023. Peacefully, at Mayo University Hospital after a brave battle over the course of the past year. Predeceased by his brothers John, Des and Gerald. Hugh will be sadly missed by his daughter Judith, sons Shane, Peter and Hughbie, brothers Dermot and Michael, his adored grandchildren Oscar, Rachel, Josh, Alex, Izzy and Aidan, daughters-in-law Narahya, Audrey and Alva, extended family, relatives and all his friends. Special thanks to Dr. Rizvi and his team as well as the wonderful staff of the Elderly Medical and B wards who cared for Hugh so well. A Funeral Service for Hugh will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1.30pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown followed by cremation in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross. For those that cannot attend, the Service can be viewed online using this link: www.churchservices.tv/monkstown . Family flowers only please. Donations if desired. to the Irish Cancer Society.
