Ã'FLOINN, Raghnall (Dublin and Waterford: former Director of the National Museum of Ireland and scholar), 10th December 2024, peacefully at home with his family after a long battle with illness. An inexpressible loss to his wife Edel, daughter Sorcha, son Muiris and their partners Rosie and Thomas, his brothers Tomás and Maolíosa, sisters Eimear, Niamh, Sadhbhanna and Aoife and their families. He will be sorely missed by his many colleagues in the National Museum and by scholars of archaeology, art history and history far and wide. Raghnall will repose in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, 88a New Cabra Road (D07 ET92) on today (Thursday) from 5 pm to 7 pm. Requiem Mass in the Newman University Church, St Stephen’s Green on tomorrow (Friday) at 2.30 pm. Burial will take place at 2 pm in Stradbally Parish Church, Co. Waterford on Saturday (14th December 2024). Family flowers only.
