COTTER, John passed away peacefully, 3rd January, 2024, surrounded by his family, under the exceptional care of the staff of Dunboyne Nursing Home. John will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sally (née O’Connor), sons Brian and Barry, daughters Oonagh, Fiona and Ciara, his daughters-in-law Angie and Róis, sons- in-law Liam, Alan and Dave. He will be especially missed by his beloved grandchildren Declan, Jack, Ethan, Paul, Aisling, Sophia, Aoife, Sadhbh, Ruairí, Evan, Sarah and Adam. John’s late son Declan is fondly remembered by the family at this time. John is also warmly remembered by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family, friends and neighbours. May he Rest in Peace. Reposing at his home, Warrenstown, Dunboyne, A86 DY98 today (Friday, 5th January) from 3 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. Removal tomorrow (Saturday morning, 6th January, 2024) to Ss. Peter and Paul’s Church, Dunboyne arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m. (which may be viewed on the following link; https://www.dunboynekilbrideparish.org/stream-parish-mass). Burial immediately after at Bohernabreena Cemetery. We also remember his parents Jack and Julia, and siblings, Liam, Sheila, Madge, Philomena and Rose who have gone to their rest before him.

On the occasion of his First Anniversary John's wife Sally and their children Brian, Barry, Oonagh, Fiona and Ciara, together with their families would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with and supported us during our very sad loss. Our deepest gratitude to our extended families, relatives, friends, neighbours, members of the Dunboyne Consort, Dunboyne Athletic Club and John's former work colleagues. A heartfelt thank you to all who came to his reposing in our home and to those who attended his Funeral Mass and burial. A special word of appreciation to our wonderful neighbours and to the members of Dunboyne Athletic Club for their touching and respectful guards of honour. A sincere thank you to Fr. Patrick O'Connor who supported us by celebrating John's life in his Funeral Mass. A special thanks to Valerie Cullen for her beautiful singing. We will be ever thankful to the management and staff of Dunboyne Nursing Home for the exceptional attention they gave to John while in their care. Thank you to the carers who looked after John at home and to the teams in the Holly Ward and Woodlands Unit in Connolly Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Tom Feighery, Dunboyne for his attention to John over many years and to Prof. Peter Kelly, Dr. Orla Donohoe and Dr. Siobhan Kennelly for their specialist care. Thank you sincerely to everyone who sent Mass cards, letters of condolence, floral tributes and messages of sympathy posted on R.I.P. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for you all.Â
