MURPHY, Kay (née Crowley) (Drumcannon, Tramore, County Waterford and formerly of the North Road, Castletownbere) December 17, 2020, (peacefully) at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Tom, loving Mam to Mairéad, Caitríona and Tom and adored Nana of Cillian, Olivia and Clara. Mourned by her husband, children and grandchildren, son-in-law James, daughter-in-law Sarah Jane and Mairead’s partner Peter, her brothers and sisters, Mary, Derry, JoJo, John, and Mairéad and her extended family. Kay will be missed by a wide circle of friends who provided comfort and support to both Kay and Tom during Kay’s illness. Due to government restrictions, Kay will repose at home in private and the funeral will be for immediate family only. When it is safe to do so, we will celebrate Kay’s life with our family and friends enjoying good company and great conversation as Kay would have wanted. Funeral Mass will be celebrated today (Monday), at 11.30am in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow (viewable on carlowcathedral.ie) followed by burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow. Family flowers only. Donations if required to the Solas Centre Waterford or the Waterford Hospice Movement. ‘Gifts of gold and silver can be repaid, but we die forever in debt to those who are kind’

MURPHY - Kay (née Crowley), December 17, 2020, (Tramore Co. Waterford and Castletownbere) - As we remember Kay, on her first anniversary, Tom, Mairéad, Caitríona and Tom with Peter, James and Sarah-Jane and her adored grandchildren Cillian, Olivia, Clara and Adam, wish to thank all who sent letters and cards of sympathy, made phone calls and wrote messages on rip.ie, sharing memories and condolences on the loss of Kay. We are extremely grateful to those who joined us on Kay's final journey, to our neighbours who gathered in Drumcannon, those who stood outside the Cathedral in Carlow and who attended the burial in St. Mary's Cemetery and all who watched her funeral mass online. We thank the extended family, our wonderful friends and Tom's former colleagues in FÁS, The Sugar Company and the Air Corps as well as colleagues in TU Dublin, Dublin and Dún Laoghaire ETB and the HSA, for your kindness in the last year which has helped so much during this difficult time. We express our appreciation to Healy's Undertakers who looked after all the arrangements so well and to Fr. Tommy Dillon for making Kay's funeral mass so special.

Kay is missed by her dear friends, neighbours, former school friends and colleagues. They continue to recall, for our comfort, memories of a wonderful, kind and generous lady who we miss every day. We will be forever grateful to those who cared for Kay during her illness especially Kelly McSweeney and Marcella Rogers who will never be forgotten by the family for all they did for Kay and for us. Finally, we are grateful for the safe arrival of Adam Thomas Murphy, born on November 25, 2021. What a welcome his Nana would have had for him.
