FITZPATRICK, Dara. (Ballinteer and Kilternan)- On the First Anniversary of Dara's death, her family would like to thank everyone who offered condolence or comfort during this past year. The whole country felt like a community as we received sympathies from every corner of this island. We very much appreciate every card, letter or prayer, every Mass offered. We are grateful to those who travelled distances short or long to visit the house or to attend Dara's funeral. We thank all those who contributed to make her funeral the beautiful celebration of her life that it was, in particular the priests of our parish of Sandyford, led by Fr. Andrew O'Sullivan, and Funeral Director Stephen Collier of Colliers of Bray. We extend sincere gratitude to the rescue crews who recovered Dara and brought her back to us, as well as to the staff in Castlebar Hospital who attended to Dara with such care and kindness. We greatly appreciate the invaluable support of the community of Blacksod who make our visits to Mayo so welcoming when they could be so harrowing. We thank Dara's colleagues and friends for the unwavering support over the past year, made all the more difficult as they are grieving themselves. We warmly thank each of our own neighbours, friends and extended family for being right by our side from the first moment of this tragedy. Your continuing presence and thoughtful support has enabled us to keep going, we can never adequately thank you for that. We are grateful to those who fundraise or make charitable donations in Dara's name, to those who visit her grave and leave flowers and cards, to those who remember Dara by speaking about her and keeping her spirit alive. It is impossible to thank everyone individually but we hope that this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our appreciation. The overwhelming support that our family has received has helped us to carry our loss and for that we are forever grateful. Dara's First Anniversary Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Glencullen, on Saturday, March 24, at 4.00pm. Dara is much loved and missed by her parents John and Mary, son Fionn, sisters Niamh, Orla and Emer, brother Johnny, brother-in-law Ciaran, sister-in-law Olga, and her extended family.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
