DARGAN, Peter Dargan, Hawthorn Lawn, Castleknock, Dublin 15 and Ballivor, Co. Meath, 7th October 2024. Peter passed peacefully, at the Beacon Hospital, surrounded by his family, after an illness borne with great courage and resilience over the last four years. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Cepta and brother James. Beloved husband of Paula and dearly loved father of Aisling and Ruth. Go n-éirí an bóthar leat, a Pheadair. Peter will be greatly missed by his family, sister Andrée, brothers Joseph and Michael, father and mother-in-law Paddy and Lily, soon to be sons-in-law David and Eoghan, brothers-in-law Tony and David, sisters-in-law Anna, Anne and Margaret, nieces and nephews, extended family, his colleagues from The Irish Times and his many friends. Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Blanchardstown, D15 XR76 on Friday (11th October) from 6pm to 8pm. Removal from his home on Saturday morning (12th October) at 10.30am to Our Lady Mother of the Church, Beechpark Lawn, Castleknock, D15 X277 for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by private cremation. The family wish to extend their sincere thanks to all the staff at St. James’s Hospital and Beacon Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness throughout Peter’s illness. DARGAN - Peter (Castleknock, Dublin and Ballivor, Co. Meath) - On the First Anniversary of Peter, beloved husband and father, his wife Paula, daughters Aisling and Ruth and the extended family wish to convey our heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with us and supported us in our great loss. We are very grateful to those who travelled long distances to attend the Removal and Funeral Mass and to those who sent flowers, Mass cards, letters of condolence and messages on RIP.ie. Your kindness will always be remembered and your shared memories and affection for Peter meant so much to us. Sincere thanks to Peters consultants and the caring staff in St. Jamess Hospital and Beacon Hospital, who looked after him so well. Thank you also to Fr. Damian for his kindness to us and to Heffernans Funeral Directors for their exceptional service during Peters final journey. To express our gratitude, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
