Mary Rose Gearon, my brother Shaun befriended Richard during their time at Downside, and I have wonderful memories of his stay with us in Brussels one holiday. He was so much fun,so willing to help out and had such a big, radiant heart.

Sincere Condolences

I have only just found out about this very sad news. Richard was a warm, engaging and loyal friend. Over many years, we had many enjoyable lunches. He was very proud of his family and always had an amusing story about the latest rebuilding/refurbishment of the farm house. A real character, who will be greatly missed. I am very sorry indeed and his family have my sincere condolences. John Barber.

Richard Dillon

A month on and I'm still in shock at the passing of my friend Richard whom I had known for more than 30 years.

As well as being a fine friend he was also a fine man - compassionate and kind as well as being most amusing company.

He was devoted to his wife and family and I'm so sorry that his plans for retirement and spending more time with them (and fishing)ended so abruptly.

My thoughts and prayers are with Scilla, Charlotte and Tom at this sad and difficult time.
