MERRIGAN, (née MacMahon), (Dún Laoghaire), December 22, 2016, (peacefully) in the wonderful care of nurses and staff of St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin. Joan Lauri; in her 84th year, dearly beloved wife of the late Michael and loving mother of Michael, Joan, Angela, Francis, Dermot and Paul. Recent recipient of the Benemerenti Medal from Pope Francis in recognition of over sixty years of dedicated service to the Church and to her parish of Sallynoggin/Glenageary. Sadly missed by her loving family, sisters Ita and Betty (USA), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Patrick O'Donovan and Son Funeral Home, Sallynoggin (opp. Sallynoggin Church) on Christmas Day from 12 noon to 2pm, St. Stephens' Day from 2pm to 4pm and Tuesday December 27 from 10am with a gathering of family and friends for 7pm prayer service (all welcome). Removal on Wednesday morning to Our Lady of Victories Church, Sallynoggin arriving at 9.50am. Funeral immediately after 10am requiem mass to Shanganagh Cemetery, Shankill. House Private. No flowers please. Donations if desired to the Fr. McVerry Trust. Donation box at rear of Church.
MERRIGAN - Joan Lauri, (née MacMahon), (Dún Laoghaire) (Fifth Anniversary - December 22, 2016), dearly beloved wife of the late Michael Merrigan (d. 1994). Very sadly missed by her sons, Michael, Francis (Australia), Dermot, and Paul (USA); daughters, Joan (McCarthy) and Angela (Doyle); son-in-law, Eugene McCarthy and daughter-in-law, Denise Merrigan, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her sister, Betty Ross (USA). Forever in our hearts.
