BROWNEN, Paul (Retired Lt. Colonel) (Clontarf and Palm Harbour, Florida) - September 4, 2016, after an illness borne with courage and good humour, cherished husband of Pauline, adored and loving father of John and Sarah; Paul will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, Army Comrades, neighbours and his many friends especially those in Clontarf GAA Club. Paul will repose at his home this (Tuesday) evening from 5 o'c until 7 o'clock Removal tomorrow (Wednesday) morning to St. Gabriel's Church, Dollymount arriving at 11.50 o'clock for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Funeral thereafter to Fingal Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to St. Francis Hospice, Raheny. House Private."Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis"

BROWNEN, Lt. Col. Paul (Retd.), (late of Clontarf), September 4, 2016. On Paul's First Anniversary, Pauline, John and Sarah wish to acknowledge and express our deep appreciation to all who sympathised and supported us during Paul's illness. Heartfelt thanks to those who attended Paul's Requiem Mass, sent Mass and sympathy cards, floral tributes and messages of comfort and support. We wish to extend our gratitude to Fr. Pat McManus, the staff at St. Gabriel's Church and to Fr. Fergus O'Connor for celebrating Paul's Mass. Special thanks to Maura Devine, Feargal Bracken and the Church Choir for the beautiful hymns and music. Thanks to Paul's fellow members at Clontarf GAA Club who provided the guard of honour en route to the Church and to the bearer party of the 7th Infantry Battalion, Cathal Brugha Barracks for their guard of honour at the church and Fingal Cemetery. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and carers at Beaumont Hospital, the homecare team of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny, to Dr. Gearóid O'Connor, Vernon Medical Clinic and the North Dublin Homecare Team for the wonderful care they gave to our beloved Paul. Special thanks to Dermot Toolan and Kirwan Funeral Directors for their kindness and assistance and a very special thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours. Thanks to all who donated so generously in Paul's memory to St. Francis Hospice. Please accept this notice as an expression of our gratitude and appreciation.
