HAMPSON, Basil John (Palmerston Park, Dublin) July 5, 2020 (peacefully) at home, surrounded by all his family. Beloved husband of Lorraine and much loved great friend of Jimmy, Susanna, Joe, Charlotte, Una. and Mary. Adored Pops of the five. Deeply regretted by his wife, step-children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sister, nieces, Edith and many friends in Ireland and England. May he Rest in Peace. Funeral private.

Basil was my best pal at Cardiff University 69-72. We were mature students with a common interest in sports cars. I remember so well helping Basil repair his Triumph TR3A. Sad to hear this lovely bloke has left us, Colin Starke, Nottingham
