O'NEILL - Martha
Cad a dhéanfaimid feasta
gan adhmad?
Tá deireadh na gcoillte ar lár
Níl trácht ar Chill Chais
ná a teaghlach
'S ní chluinfear a cling go brách
An áit úd 'na gcónaíodh an dei-bhean
Fuair gradam is meidhir
thar mnáibh
Bhíodh iarlaí ag tarraingt thar
toinn ann
'S an t-Aifreann binn dá rá
i.m.Martha ONeill.
From Chill Chais, a 16th century Irish lament
