WHELAN, David (Firhouse and formerly Rathfarnham, died June 5, 2013) - David's parents Andrew and Celine, his partner Barbara and his family would like to thank most sincerely, all those who sympathised and supported us during our recent sad loss. We really appreciate the kindness shown by those who attended his Removal and Funeral Mass in Rathfarnham, and his Memorial Mass in Kilcar Co Donegal. We appreciate the fact that many people travelled long distances to be with us. We would like to thank Fr Joseph Ryan and Fr Martin Noone PP who officiated at his funeral in Rathfarnham, and Fr Eddie Gallagher PP who celebrated his Mass in Kilcar. We are very grateful to all the people who participated in those services. Our gratitude is also extended to those who called to the house, sent Mass Cards, letters of sympathy and made donations to the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust. A special word of thanks is extended to all the staff in the Mater, St Luke's and St James's Hospitals, who provided dedicated care to David during his prolonged illness. In particular, we would like to acknowledge the outstanding kindness and care which he received from Dr Eibhlin Conneally. We appreciate all the help given to him by his GP Dr Paddy O Connor, his secretary Rachel, and the staff in the Firhouse Pharmacy. We are very thankful for all the support that he received from his work colleagues, neighbours and friends. We would also like to thank Fanagans undertakers, who were very compassionate and helpful to us. Our final expression of gratitude goes to David's Stem Cell Donor who gave him the gift of an additional year of life. We will always be very grateful for the extended time that we had with him. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we ask that this Acknowledgement be accepted as a token of our gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
