O'NEILL, Cathal, (Architect and formerly of UCD School of Architecture), (Capel Street and Clonskeagh Road), July 11, 2022 at home surrounded by his children. Beloved husband of the late Deirdre, (née Monks), father of Garrett, Melissa, Nicholas, Rebecca and Emma, brother of the late Sheila (Gleeson), Cassie (O’Sullivan) and Paul; he will be sadly missed by his family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and partners, Cleo Rowan, Jeremy Eng, Beth Kaplan, Ashley Munns, Norman Cho and Ben Cherner, grandchildren Jesse, Seth, Charles, Oona, Esmé, Thomas, Alice, Agatha, Zelda and Bram, sisters-in-law Ann Moore and Eileen Halliday, nieces, nephews, all his relatives and a wide circle of friends. House private. Removal on Tuesday morning (July 19) to St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Marlborough Street, arriving at 10.20 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 10.30 a.m. followed by burial at The Grallagh Cemetery, Fingal. I worked for Cathal in the early 80's, a lovely and inspiring experience, but it was warmth and kindness that I recall and I was so glad to have dinner with him in 2018 and recall some great times. May he rest in peace.
