McDERMOTT, Miriam (née Kilgallen) (Pearse Road, Sligo). October 18, 2015. Peacefully in Sligo Hospice after a long illness bravely borne in the company of her loving family and hospice staff. Pre-deceased by her husband Brian A McDermott MRCVS. Sadly missed by her daughters Miriam (Feeney), Gillian (Oates), Cora (Morrissey) and Grainne, sons Shane, Brian and Gordon, sons-in-law Cyril, Michael and Niall, daughters-in-law Sue, Grainne and Eithne, sister - Finola (Caffrey, Dublin), brothers Peter and John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, her many adored grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and many very dear friends. Rest in Peace. Reposing at her home today (Tuesday) from 3.00pm until 10.00pm. Removal to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo tomorrow (Wednesday) for Funeral Mass at 12.00 noon. Burial afterwards in Sligo Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Sligo Hospice, The Mall, Sligo.
McDERMOTT, Miriam, Sligo, Died October 18, 2015 - On the First Anniversary of her death, the family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to all who called to our home, attended the funeral, sent Mass cards and letters of sympathy. To our relatives, neighbours, friends thank you. A special thank you to the medical staff of the Oncology Department Sligo University Hospital, the North West Hospice and Palliative Home Care Team who cared for our mother during her long illness. Thanks to Fr. Dominick Gillooly for conducting the funeral ceremonies, and all the clergy who concelebrated the funeral Mass. A special thank you to Kevin Quinn and Jonathan Carter who provided the music for the Mass. Thank you to the undertakers. As a token of our appreciation the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. First Anniversary Mass on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 10am St Anne's Church, Sligo.
