LUDDY (P.J.) (9 Woodlee, Tralee) (September 27, 2008) - Phil, Sarah and Peter and P.J.'s sisters Úna Luddy and Marie McCarthy and family, together with the Cremins family wish to express our heartfelt thanks for the warmth and support shown to P.J. during his journey of hope and shared with all of us since his passing. Our lives were shattered but we were strengthened and enriched by the many heartwarming gestures of our wonderful friends, neighbours, work colleagues, school friends and relatives. To those who shared this difficult journey with us and carried us forward step by step our heartfelt thanks. Our sincerest and deepest thanks to Mons. Dan O'Riordan and the concelebrating clergy who brought us peace and consolation and who made the funeral Mass such a profound and meaningful celebration of P.J.'s life. We wish to acknowledge in a special way Mr. Ed O'Neill and the loyal staff and pupils, past and present, of St. Brendan's College, Killarney, who so deeply enriched P.J.'s working life and who brought their gifts of friendship, music, word and song to soothe us on P.J.'s final journey. We wish to acknowledge P.J.'s friendship with his colleagues on the Dept. of Education Examinations Team and in the tourism industry. We wish to express our sincerest thanks to Graham and Pat Gleasure; to the Gardaí and the school community in Tralee and Killarney for their exceptional support. We deeply appreciate the care and kindness shown to P.J. by all of his medical teams especially Prof. J. Reynolds, St. James' Hospital, Dublin, Dr. Eugene Moylan, Oncology Unit and Dr. Patricia Sheehan, Suaimhneas Centre, Kerry General Hospital and their wonderful colleagues and all at H.S.E. South who gave of themselves so generously and who filled P.J.'s spirit with courage, hope and joy. We are truly grateful to those who made donations to Kerry Hospice Foundation. To all who brought us comfort in any way, our deepest thanks. We will long mourn P.J.'s passing but we will also hold the kindness of all our friends in our hearts forever.Carpe diem.
