MATHEWS Peter (Mount Merrion) former member of Dáil Eireann, February 27, 2017 (peacefully) in St James's Hospital, surrounded by his family, beloved husband of Susan, dearly loved father of James, John, David and Maria; deeply regretted by his wife, children, mother Clare, brothers and sisters, Mark, Raphael (King), Gareth (Herlihy), Adrianne (Murphy), Miriam (MacQuillan), Stephen, his extended family, friends and John's fiancée Emma. Funeral Mass Friday (March 3) at 10.00am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery."We thank you Lord

MATHEWS Peter, (Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin). On the First Anniversary (February 27) of Peter's death, his wife Susan, children James, John, David and Maria, daughter-in-law Emma, his mother Clare and brothers and sisters Mark, Raphael, Gareth, Adrianne, Miriam and Stephen would like to thank most sincerely the President's Aide-de-camp, Colonel Michael Kiernan, former Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, Deputy Micheál Martin, the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Charles Brown, the Jesuit priests and all other priests who kindly concelebrated Peter's mass. Peter's doctors Staunton, Reynolds, Cunningham and Cuffe, who gave all they had to give, the wonderful staff of St. James's and St. Luke's hospitals. Quinn's Funeral Home, broadcaster Vincent Browne, Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl, present and former government ministers, Senators, MEPs, party leaders and politicians. Peter's P.A's Danny Hanley and Avril Cronin, the staff of Leinster House and former I.C.C Bank colleagues. All of our friends and extended family and all of those who travelled and attended. For each and every kind word, Mass card, letter or kindness we received, we are so deeply grateful. Thank you for your wonderful support to us all. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
