BROWN Bernard (Blackrock, Co Dublin) - Died December 4, 2009. As the first anniversary of Bernard's death approaches, his wife Dolores, his daughter Ciara and her family, together with Bernard's brother and sister and the wider family would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us and supported us at the time of our sad loss and during the past year. Thank you to all the friends who visited Bernard at home during his long illness and kept his spirits up. Thank you to all who cared for Bernard, especially our GP Dr Clem McCrory, the medical teams at St Vincent's Hospital and at Blackrock Hospice, particularly its fantastic Homecare team who, together with Susan's kind and tender care, made it possible for Bernard to remain at home as he wished. Thank you to the very many people who visited our home and kept vigil with Bernard, and to all who joined us at his funeral Mass, especially those who travelled to do so. Special thanks to Fr Carroll for his visits; to Fr Larry Behan for his ministry to Bernard and for conducting a very moving service and to Joanna Campbell for her wonderful singing which lifted us all. Many thanks also to Brian Carnegie, Funeral Director, and his colleagues for their sensitivity and professionalism. We are deeply grateful to all those who wrote letters, sent Mass cards, enrolment certificates, made donations to Blackrock Hospice, phoned and called personally to see us. Your support has meant a huge amount to us and helped us through a difficult time in so many ways. We thank those who endlessly provided food, who helped sort out so many practical matters, those who walked with us to choose Bernard's final resting place. A special word of thanks to the many representatives of the Teresians - staff, past and current pupils and parents for their continuing support. The kindness of our wonderful neighbours, friends, and the extended family, who have done so much to accompany us on our own journey over the past year, has been a great comfort to us. We hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as an expression of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Bernard's First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated at 9am next Sunday December 5, at the Church of the Assumption, Booterstown.
