Mac GOWAN Very Rev. Doctor Padraig P.P. (Late of The Parish of Ballymahon and Shrule, Co. Longford). On the First Anniversary of Fr. Padraig's death, his brothers Enda, Tony and Gerard, his sisters Maura, Rheda, Imelda and Emer wish to thank - all the parishioners, extended family, friends and neighbours who attended the removal, all-night vigil, Requiem Mass and funeral - who supported and sympathised with us in our great loss. We are very grateful to all who sent Mass cards, letters of condolence and flowers. Our sincere gratitude to the Emergency Services, Garda Siochana, The Sisters of Mercy, The Pastoral Council, staff and pupils of St. Matthew's Primary School, Mercy Secondary School and The Vocational School, The Guard of Honour and the many wonderful parishioners whose attention to detail - both religious and practical - ensured Fr. Padraig's obsequies were a fitting tribute to a dearly loved pastor. We would especially like to thank Most Rev. Francis Duffy, Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise, Bishop Emeritus Colm O'Reilly, Most Rev. Bishop Brendan Kelly, Bishop of Achonry, Right Rev. Monsignor Patrick Earley, P.P, V.G. Very Rev. Tom Barden, P.P. and the very many priests from inside and outside the diocese for the wonderful ceremonies celebrating Fr. Padraig's fifty years of ministry. Special thanks also to - the Choir of St. Matthew's Church, The Innyside Singers, students of Mercy Secondary School Choir and soloist Emer Barry accompanied by Fintan Farrelly and our sister Emer. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all, as a token of our deep appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass hasbeen offered for your intentions. The Anniversary Mass for Fr. Padraig will be held in St. Matthew's Church, Ballymahon, on Sunday, February 21 at 11.30a.m.
