O'CONNELL, Desmond, (Malahide, Co. Dublin) May 2, 2013. - The family of Des wish to thank most sincerely everyone who sympathised and supported them at the time of their sad loss. To those who attended the funeral, sent Mass cards, letters and messages of sympathy. To neighbours, relatives and friends who helped in so many ways. A very special thanks to the medical and nursing staff at St. James Hospital who looked after Des so professionally over the years, to the staff of Beaumont Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness during his final days, and to his GP Dr. Michael Colclough. To Monsignor Peter Briscoe and Fr. Garry Darby for their kindness, prayers and celebration of the Mass, the Chaplains at Beaumont Hospital, and to Maura McManus and the Church choir to which Des belonged for many years. To Rocks Funeral Directors whose professionalism and help were much appreciated. We hope that this acknowledgment of your support and kindness will be accepted as a token of our appreciation and gratitude. Des' First Anniversary Mass will be on Sunday, May 11 at 11.15am at St. Sylvester's Church, Malahide.
