O'CONNELL As we approach the First Anniversary of the death of our beloved Michael on September 17, 2018, Mary, Deirdre and Feargal thank the innumerable people who supported us then and since. We extend special thanks to our families, friends, neighbours and colleagues for their valuable friendship and kindness during Michael's illness and in the past year. The Haematology team and the staff of Private Two, St. James's Hospital gave Michael individual and excellent care and we will always be grateful to them. We thank Michael's former classmates from Gormanston College, colleagues from RTE and the television community, along with his sailing comrades from RIYC, the Squib and Dublin Bay fleets and the wider sailing community, some of whom had just accompanied him on his return voyage to St. Petersburg. Our deepest thanks to Father John Wall, Father Frank Sammon S.J. and Mary O'Callaghan for a wonderful celebratory Mass which reflected Michael's gifts and exuberant personality. Along with them, the Parish Priest of Three Patrons Parish Rathgar, Father Joseph Mullan P.P. and the Bethany Group will always be remembered. The Mornington Singers provided beautiful music while Alan Harmon of Bourke's Funeral Directors ensured the funeral arrangements were managed professionally and discreetly. We have so many wonderful memories of Michael and thank all those who helped us to celebrate his life and while we mourn his death.
