A wonderful teacher

Eibhlín taught me Irish in Mount St Anne's Secondary School in Milltown, Dublin. She was demanding and exact, and I learned a huge amount from her. She was a formative influence. When I was a student in UCD, I used to visit her regularly. Her apparent severity masked a warm and generous heart. I misread the funeral notice, and I deeply regret that I missed her funeral today.
