In particular we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to President Michael D. Higgins and Mrs. Higgins for their attendance at Donal's removal. Our thanks also to Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore, Minister Joan Burton, Minister of State Alex White, Minister of State Joe Costello, the Aide de Camp to the President, Col. Joe Brennan, SJ, Rev. Noel Barber SJ, Rev. Kennedy O'Brien SJ, Rev. Myles O'Reilly SJ and Rev. Michael Mernagh OSA for officiating at the prayerful and comforting liturgies. Our particular thanks to Francis Devine and Bill Attley for their insightful and kind words. We would also like to express our deep appreciation for their attendance at his removal and funeral to the many representatives of the organisations and bodies with which Donal was associated over the years. To Fr. Kieran McDermott, to those who helped prepare the Church, who provided the music and who sang, and to Fanagan's Funeral Home, Dundrum, our gratitude for their professional and considerate services. Finally we acknowledge with gratitude the care which Donal received in recent months from all in Whitebeam, Clonskeagh Community Care Unit and especially his dedicated visitors - Brendan, Brian, Barbara, Bill, Tommy and Fr. Tom - over those months. We hope that this acknowledgment will serve as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
