Lunch with Maeve in UCC

Had a wonderful lunch with Maeve in the Staff Dining Room in UCC some years ago when she was doing The Irish Times in the Classroom in Cork City Library. She had myself and a member of the City Library staff in knots of laughter throughout the meal. When I met her several years later she still remembered the lunch in UCC when we had such fun. She also gave a plug to the new Boole Library in her column in the Irish Times the following week.

The world is a poorer place without you Maeve!

Maeve the Irreplaceable

Maeve was enthralling and entertaining company in person and on the page, and so warm and genuine in every way. I feel confident that the social scene in Heaven has brightened up considerably over the last few days...heartfelt sympathy to Maeve's husband and family from Caroline Counihan in Clare
