FUREY Tony (of Drumcooley Edenderry May 6, 2007) - On the occasion of Tony's 85th Birthday (September 15), Ber and the family would like to thank the many people who sympathised with them on their sad loss. We would like to thank all the relations, friends and neighbours who called to the house and attended the removal and funeral Mass. Thank you for all the Mass cards, letters of sympathy and floral tributes. Thank you to Fr. J. Fitzpatrick, Fr. A. Murphy, Fr. McNamara, Fr. T. Norris, Fr. Dunphy, Fr Hickey, Fr Tont McEvoy and Fr. Cushen who came to concelebrate the funeral Mass and Fr. John Cosgrove for giving such a real picture of Tony's life. Thank you to Tom and Gay Lawton, Padraigh Brown and Mag for the beautiful music and singing, the Commemorative Committee for the Guard of Honour and the Gardai who provided the funeral escort, and the friends and neighbours who dug the grave. Thank you to Pat and Patrick Larkin and staff Undertakers. We were overwhelmed by the large numbers who attended and greatly comforted to know that Tony was held in such high esteem by so many. We would like to thank Mons. John McDonald for his great friendship and visits to Drumcooley over the years which meant so much to Tony and Ber. Thank you too to Fr. Kevin Walsh and the friends and neighbours who called to visit Tony over the months of his illness. To the medical team who made it possible for Tony to remain at home for the duration of his illness, Dr. Brian Emerson, Dr. M. Haverty, nurse Ann and also Marie and Caroline in the office and to Mary Corcoran and the Palliative Care team, to Sr. Marita and also to staff of Ryan's Pharmacy. A special word of thanks to Tony's granddaughter nurse Sorca O'Connor and his niece nurse Jackie Cosgrove. We are extremely grateful to everyone who helped in any way over the months of Tony's illness and made it possible to have his dearest wish fulfilled that he could remain at home in the house in which he was born and lived all his life. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions."His light will always shine in our lives"
