Deepest sympathy
I had the privilege of meeting Barry many years ago while we were both attending a course in Dorset and became good friends, although life (as it so often does) took us in different directions. I remember him as a highly intelligent, talented individual who was able to inspire and motivate all those around him to achieve their best. Although a natural leader, he also demonstrated tremendous humanity and compassion towards others. His warm sense of humour, natural eloquence and strong moral sense earned him the respect of all his colleagues, without exception. During the time I knew Barry, he spoke frequently and with great affection of his family back in Ireland. I hope they will find some comfort in the knowledge that Barry was an exceptional person and '-foremost of those that I would hear praised.' I wish them my deepest and most sincere condolences and what must be such a difficult time.
