REIDY, Gabrielle (London and Malahide) - On Gabrielle's First Anniversary Gary, Finn, Melanie, Joan and our families wish to thank all her wonderful relatives, friends, carers and medical staff who helped her during her illness in countless ways. She spoke in amazement of 'the love' that surrounded her and referred to many of you as her 'angels'. We will never forget your kindness. Thanks to all who travelled from far and near to Gabrielle's funeral in London, her packed memorial in Dublin and to Fragments of Isabella in the IFI. Thanks for the cards, letters, texts and calls. A special thank you to the friends who contributed to all of these celebrations of Gabrielle's life and who organised the moving memorial and film in Dublin - she was right about 'the love'. So we thank you all in Ireland, England, Germany, USA and elsewhere - she had friends all over the world - thank you for supporting us throughout that time and for the love and care you continue to extend to all of us, even though you too are heartbroken.Go raibh míle maith agaimh go léir.

Elegant, full-hearted, generous

The world is a sadder place without Gabrielle. I was lucky enough to direct her in The Clinic and we stayed friends, I like to think, through her Dublin appearances. She brought such a combination of subtlety and power to all her roles including her own life, I believe. So sorry for her family and friends and our community.

Very sad news
Am deeply saddened by news of Gabrielle's death. I can never forget her stunning performance in Those Three Days, the Passion Play in Dublin's Pro-Cathedral in 1986. May she rest in eternal peace.
