Mc MAHON Comdt (Retd) Shane (John) Defence Forces and EUFOR Bosnia (July 22 2013) On this the First Anniversary, Olive, sons Rory and Dara and daughter Aisling wish to thank those of you who sympathised with us, supported and comforted us at the time of and in the days following Shane's death. We extend our appreciation to the Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lt Gen Conor O Boyle, Assistant Chief of Staff Brig Gen Colm Campbell, Lt Gen (Retd) Jim Sreenan, members of the 47th Cadet Class and to Shane's many colleagues and friends. We thank Colonel Brian O'Keeffe for his outstanding support and his thoughtful tribute to Shane. Lt Col Ollie Barbour (PSS) for his support. Members of the Defence Forces who provided military honours and Bearer Party at the funeral. The Mess President, and staff of McKee Officers' Mess. The President Maj Gen (Retd) Savino, members and staff of IUNVA. We express our sincere gratitude to Fr. David Tyndall, Army Chaplain, for his support and for officiating at the removal and funeral services. We thank Mr. David Fanagan and Staff at Fanagan's Funeral Undertakers for the care and professionalism shown to us. EUFOR Staff and Comdt EarnĂ¡n Naughton for their assistance and support in Sarajevo. A heartfelt thank you to our family for the sympathy and support we received, particular thanks to Brian and Pat, Nuala and Eileen. To our friends and extended family, those who attended the removal and funeral Mass, who travelled long distances to be with us, to those who sent Mass cards and letters of sympathy. Please accept this Acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.
