Lorcan

I always thought / hoped I'd bump into you again - possibly in Kehoe's. So sorry that won't happen now. Rest in peace. Eimear

To Lorcan Phelan, a great Irish fellow

Lorcan, you gave love to so many. I will miss your wit, your charm, your handsome face smiling, or breaking into hilarity. I was fortunate to share so many moments, often with a pint of Guinness in our hands, blathering on about music, literature and the meaning of meaning. Together with Dara, we were a trio to reckon with. Your kindness to others: you sat with a bloke in the pub and talked to him rather than us, just because you thought he needed the company more. Your deep knowledge of things and sensitivity to what was important. Can that really end? No, my friend, you are with us, at our elbow, if you like, throwing in an aside here and there, getting the craic flowing, and showing the world what living really meant. You have a legacy of a beautiful family, three daughters to make you proud. You have a legacy amongst friends that will not only live on in words, but in our behaviour. You taught me lessons in respect and compassion for others. Your passion, your verve for life, your knowledge, and your dashing good looks.... the list is long. I raise a glass to you, dear friend, and I thank you. Much, much love. Un abrazo, amigo mio. Let us listen to music!
