CONNIFFE Denis (Prof) (Dublin and Roscommon, January 20, 2011) - At the time of the First Anniversary of Denis' death, his wife Jean, his sons Derek, John and Brian together with his daughter-in-law Aoife and grandchildren Harvey, Jasper, Zoe and Len would like to thank all those who supported us in our loss. We extend our thanks to all who telephoned, sent Mass Cards, letters and flowers and those who travelled long distances to be with us. Special thanks to Denis' colleagues and students from NUI Maynooth, UCD (especially Chris Whelan and Yvonne) TCD, ESRI and Teagasc (AFT) and Prof. John Spencer and Helen (Queen's University, Belfast). Thanks to our neighbours and friends in Mount Anville, Deerpark Tennis Club and Fran and Jane Blackrock. Also to Noel Whelan and Breda and the Judo Club in Killester. We would also like to offer our sincere thanks to the medical team in Ceder Ward and the Radiology Dept. St. Vincent's Private Hospital, especially Dr. Michael Moriarty, for their kindness and tender care. We greatly appreciate the consolation and help given to us by Fr. Tony and his team at the Church of St. Therese, Mt. Merrion, in celebrating Denis' life, also Darina for the wonderful music, and Fanagan's Funeral Directors, Dundrum, for making the arrangements so much easier. Thank you to Jacqueline Holmes and her lovely ladies in Strokestown and to Frances in Lough Key House for a fitting memorial weekend for our beloved Denis, and very especially, thanks to Alan Barrett for his thoughtful and comforting eulogy at Denis' funeral Mass. To our immediate and extended family and close friends, we appreciate your love and support during the past year. Thank you. As it would be impossible to reply to all the tributes to Denis individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation.
