FINNERTY (Folkestone, Kent and formerly of Moygownagh, Co. Mayo) March 9, 2014. Mary Anne (Maura) (peacefully) at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent after a brief illness surrounded by members of her family. Beloved sister of P.J.(deceased), Fr. Rory (deceased), Dympna and Eileen. She will be sadly missed by her brothers-in-law Christy and Paddy, sister-in-law Theresa, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and her many friends and ex-pupils in England, France, Spain, India, New Zealand, Argentina and Uruguay. May she Rest in Peace. Remains arriving at 2.3Opm at St. Tiernan's Church, Crossmolina today (Wednesday). Requiem Mass at 12 noon tomorrow (Thursday) in St. Tiernan's Church, Crossmolina. Burial afterwards in Moygownagh Cemetery.
FINNERTY, Mary Anne (Maura), Folkestone Kent (formally Carn, Moygownagh, Ballina), who died peacefully on March 9, 2014 - On this First Anniversary of her death, the family of the much loved Mary Anne (Maura) Finnerty, particularly her sisters Dympna and Eileen, her sister-in-law Teresa, brothers-in-law Christopher and Patrick, nieces and nephews wish to thank all those who supported them during her short illness, following her death, and during and since her funeral. Thank you to the medical and nursing staff at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent (England), who looked after Maura with dignity and care, and to her friends in Kent, for their friendship, and kindness. Thanks to Fr. Stephen Bould who organised the Mass in Folkestone, and to the Stella Maris School choir for their beautiful singing. Thank you too, to the teaching staff, past and present, and the many former pupils of Stella Maris school, for your wonderful support. Thank you to Father Bould, and Canon Cronin for your many visits to the hospital, during Maura's short stay. We are especially indebted to those who travelled to Knock Airport, who attended the reception of Maura into St. Tiernan's Church Crossmolina, her funeral Mass and burial. Special thanks to the Sisters of Jesus and Mary and the Pallotine Fathers, for the support that you have given us. As a family we thank Fr. Brendan Hoban PP Moygownagh, other priests who concelebrated the funeral Mass, and musicians (particularly Maura's nephew Sean and grandniece Grainne) who made her funeral Mass so consoling and memorable. Thank you to Mr. Enda Hiney and all at Hiney's Funeral Directors who were involved in Maura's funeral, and to the proprietor and staff at the Merry Monk Restaurant for providing a beautiful meal after the funeral. Finally, sincere thanks to Patrick and John Finnerty for preparing Maura's final resting place with such care and attention. First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated on March 28th at 8pm at St. Cormac's Church in Moygownagh. Mass will be offered for your intentions.
