Very sad news

Dear Mr. Murphy,

I was so sorry to hear of your wife's passing. You were both so enormously kind to me when I was visiting and studying in Dublin in 1993. You welcomed me into your home and made me feel very special. I remember Mrs. Murphy taking meto your lovely rose garden out back, and I remember you going through my travel agenda and seeing all the delightful places I was going to see in Ireland. You told me then that I had seen more of Ireland than Rosaleen.

I have been a great friend of Rosaleen and Barry for 25 years. They both speak so fondly and lovingly of all your family, and I have been lucky enough to have met a few members. I'm glad you are a close family because now you will certainly need one another.

I will try to be as understanding and supportive of Rosaleen as I can. My mother died last August so I do know something of what she will be going through. We love our mothers and would want them to live forever, if that were only possible. Rosaleen is a wonderful person and a dear friend. She is well loved.

Please know that my thoughts and my prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Most sincerely,

Leanne Dorrell Moody

Belleville, Ontario, CANADA

Sad

Padraig,

I am sorry I amn't there today, but I'm with you in spirit. Sheila was always supportive of me, and un-endingly generous. I will always remember her as she was when I first met her, and will miss her.
