His Living Voice

As others have said his Saturday programme was an inspiration.

It still inspires us as we are going to see the Unthanks (again), it was Donal who brought their beautiful sound to us early on a Saturday morning and they are still filling our lives. Thank you Donal.

Saturday Mornings Will Never be the Same

Was travelling to Northern Ireland last Saturday morning. Radio on. Where is Donal Broughan? Had been looking forward to it from the previous Saturday. He said he'd be playing Christmas stuff. I wasn't expecting any old Xmas stuff. With Donal it was always Xcellent stuff. Then I heard the announcement.

What can I say? The music you have passed on to us will be a constant blessing. The vacancy for Guardian Angel (Music) has now been filled.

A Friend Over The Water

My weekends always started with Donal, a man who just let the music do the talking - a rare gift. I'd like to say I was the only listener over the water in Derbyshire but his simple vision in music choice was a guilty pleasure for many over here...
