MORONEY, Al - On this Al's first anniversary we thank all extended family, wonderful friends and neighbours, patients and the members of Al's sports clubs at Royal Tara GC, Lahinch GC, Ashbourne RFC, UCD RFC, Bective RFC and London Irish RFC for your love and support through the many months of Al's illness. The care he received from his colleagues in general practice, in the Mater Private Hospital, in particular the Oncology and Orthopaedic Departments in Our Lady's Ward, was above and beyond what we could ever have hoped for and we think you will agree that he proved wrong the old adage that doctors make bad patients! He only ever wanted to be at home and happily we were able to give him that small gift with the cheerful support of the Meath Palliative Team, our carers from the Home Help department of the HSE and the Irish Cancer Society nurses. The bunkers of life are behind him and it's all fairways now. We miss him today and always but thinking of him makes us smile, not cry. Thanks Mac and Des for everything and to Vera for a lifetime of keeping the show on the road. Marjorie, Joanne, Shelley, Emma, Marjorie, Michael and Kizzy.
